GOVERNING BOARD

A governing board is a group of people that has the authority to exercise governance and advice over Mother Teresa forum (MTF). It is "important not only for acquiring the necessary range of skills to oversee the entity, but also in promoting cohesion, flexibility, and effective participation of the members to achieve their governance objectives”. They are the group of people given the power and authority to form the policy and steer the overall direction of MTF. Its members are selected through nomination from council, steering committee, assembly of elders etc. Individuals on the governing body of MTF may be selected because of their credentials, special cultural knowledge, age or gender, or because of their position in their group, community, region or nation. The governing board makes and implements decisions on behalf of its members and the organization.

Dr. A. E. Muthunayagam Dr. A.E. Muthunayagam is a leading Space Scientist in Indian Space Research Organisation and the chief architect of Rocket Propulsion in India. He was responsible for the creation of Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre. His contributions to the development of Propulsion Technology in India, he is known as the Father of Propulsion Technology in India's Space program. He chose to return to India from NASA, United States for the development of Propulsion Technology in ISRO. He established the Test Stands and Assembly and Integration facilities in Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre, Mahendragiri for testing Liquid Stages of PSLV and GSLV vehicles. He served as the Secretary in the Department of Ocean Development Govt. of India. He worked as an Executive Vice-President in Kerala State Council for Science Technology and Environment He also served as Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai from 2005 to 2008

Dr. Jeyakumar Daniel
Dr.Jeyakumar Daniel is a renowned service minded honest personality. He was formerly Asian Director for The Leprosy Mission International, a Nonprofit Organization based in United Kingdom which is a leading international Christian charity, active in over 30 countries, working towards the vision of Leprosy Defeated and Lives Transformed. Founded in 1874, The Leprosy Mission is the oldest and largest leprosy-focused organisation in the world. It has Global Fellowship of 30 Member. He was also former coordinator for Sri Lanka – TLM, Former Director for South Asia former Financial Administrator Woodstock School, Mussorie, India ,he was also President Jesuscalls and Executive Director Seesha a Charity organization and was the Trustee & Chancellor's Representative of Karunya University for 8 years.


Rev. Dr. Kurian Thomas M.A. (SW), Ph.D (USA)
Rev. Dr. Kurian Thomas M.A. (SW), Ph.D (USA), Is a human rights activist with a Doctorate in social sciences. He works for the rights of children in distress and women in difficult circumstances. In order to care for such people he founded the NGO, Asha Nivas Social Service Centre in 1976 and networks with many Governmental and Non-Governmental agencies. He has set up similar Organisations and dedicated service providers to manage them in different parts of South India in order to carry on such service to the marginalized. He guides and assists several community development organisations in different capacities.



Dr. J. Alexander, IAS (Rtd) Ex.Minister Dr. J Alexander, IAS (Retired), Former Chief Secretary and Cabinet Minister, Karnataka State, India. He started his career as a lecturer in English in Fatima Mata National College, Kollam and joined the Indian Administrative Service in 1963. Served for 33 years in various departments:, rising to District Commissioner and District Magistrate of Dharwad District, Karnataka, Revenue Commissioner of Karnataka State and Chairman, Karnataka State Revenue Appellate Tribunal. He was also Commissioner and Chief Executive of Bangalore City Municipal Corporation,Chairman of the Bangalore Development Authority, Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board, Karnataka state urban water supply and sewerage Board, Slum Clearance Board, and housing Board. He was also: Chief Executive of Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation, Chairman and Managing Director, Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers, Mangalore, and chairman of several other enterprises. Later , he served as Chief Secretary, of the State of Karnataka state. Social Life: After retirement from Civil Service, he joined public life, contested elections to the Karnataka Legislative Assembly, became a member of the Legislative Assembly from Bangalore and became a Cabinet Minister for Tourism of Karnataka State. He is President of Bangalore City YMCA for the last 30 years, Advisory Board member in Global Organization of People of Indian Origin(GOPIO), Board of governors of Xavier Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship Bangalore and Chairman of its branch in KOCHI, Kerala.

Dr. S.M. Balaji S. M. Balaji is a dental and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon from Chennai, India. He is a dental scientist who specializes in repair of cleft palate, rhinoplasty, ear reconstruction, jaw reconstruction, facial asymmetry correction, dental implant ology, maxillofacial surgery and craniofacial surgery. Dr.Balaji conducts medical camps in South India, North America, China, Russia, Andamans and Maldives with the support of the governments as the majority of the people cannot afford these surgeries, by finding sponsors for poor patients and also operating free. He conducts craniofacial, maxillofacial, cleft lip and palate surgery at Victoria Hospital, Mahe – Seychelles, Jawaharlal Nehru Hospital Mauritius, Vacua Hospital, Mauritius, Indra Gandhi Hospital, Republic of Maldives. A documentary on Balaji's surgical expertise and success in skull and face reconstruction surgery was telecast at International Film Festival, Berlin in 1996. He was the first Indian to be the President of the 7th World Cleft Lip & Palate Congress held at Republic of Seychelles. Prof. S. M. Balaji was awarded the “Global Pioneer in Craniomaxillofacial Surgery” by His Excellency Shri Banwarilal Purohit, Governor of Tamil Nadu. This award comes in recognition of the numerous Craniomaxillo facial research and its practical impact on oral health care delivery. Dr. S. M. Balaji, the renowned maxillofacial surgeon from Chennai hailed for his prowess in Maxillofacial Surgery and for introducing several new and successful techniques to the field of Maxillofacial Surgery, received the coveted Dr. B.C. Roy Award (2005) on July 1, 2008 from the President, Her Excellency Shrimati Prathibha Patel, at the Rashtrapathy Bhavan

Shri. A. Rajah Singh is a Person of integrity serving the people in grass root level. He is the Member of the Cathedral Church of the redemption, which was erected by Lord Irwin, the Viceroy, New Delhi He is the Pioneer in organizing Leprosy patients children's Education Fund (LPCEF) in Delhi. He was also the pioneer in establishing a nursery school in the Church premises which is located just back side of Parliament Building.
